There are other brewpubs, taprooms and bars that serve only one brand of beer. But we are not that. We serve our beer side-by-side with that of our competition, with the belief that the quality and selection of our ingredients and the care and craft of our brewmaster shines through in every batch we brew and every pint we pour. Similarly, our hand-crafted cocktails are created with a keen attention to detail using only the freshest of ingredients. BLUE PLATE RESTAURANT GROUP

HUMBLE BEGINNINGS

Two servers working together at The Nicollet Island Inn during the 1990s honed their skills at one of the Twin Cities premier restaurant/hotels. After work hours, David Burley and Stephanie Shimp dreamed up the idea for what became the Highland Grill.

With each year becoming busier than the last, David and Stephanie expanded their collection of neighborhood restaurants to become the Blue Plate Restaurant Company, which includes Highland Grill, Groveland Tap, Longfellow Grill, Edina Grill, 3 Squares, The Lowry, and  The Blue Barn (Minnesota State Fair).
