BREAKFAST TO BEER
There are other brewpubs, taprooms and bars that serve only one brand of beer. But we are not that. We serve our beer side-by-side with that of our competition, with the belief that the quality and selection of our ingredients and the care and craft of our brewmaster shines through in every batch we brew and every pint we pour. Similarly, our hand-crafted cocktails are created with a keen attention to detail using only the freshest of ingredients. It’s this commitment and love for what we do at The Freehouse that makes it worthy of your selection. So raise your glass, enjoy your food, and savor a little taste of freedom.
We have 20 dedicated spaces and valet Monday-Friday until 5pm. Weekdays after 5pm and on the weekends we have valet available on Washington Ave. in front of the Freehouse.
There is street parking available on Washington Avenue and surrounding side-streets. We recommend using the MPLS Parking App for easy and convenient payment.
BLUE PLATE RESTAURANT GROUP
Two servers working together at The Nicollet Island Inn during the 1990s honed their skills at one of the Twin Cities premier restaurant/hotels. After work hours David Burley and Stephanie Shimp dreamed up the idea for what became the Highland Grill. With each year becoming busier than the last, David and Stephanie expanded their collection of neighborhood restaurants to become the Blue Plate Restaurant Company, which includes:

- Longfellow Grill
- Edina Grill
- 3 Squares
- The Lowry
- The Blue Barn (Minnesota State Fair)
Blue Plate Restaurant Company is busy expanding this fall to include two new restaurant concepts, Bottle Rocket and Mercury Dining Room and Rail, an event center called Shindig, and a farm located an hour outside of Minneapolis.
